The Devil You Adore Shares Past, Present and Future Fun with DJAMM.

Hard working. Trustworthy. Moralistic. Talented. Four words that aren’t always used together to describe one person, let alone a group of them. But, The Devil You Adore isn’t just any old group. No way.

During their second appearance on DJAMM show tonight. Dizzy D. B.A. Barraw and Travesty gave listeners a good glimpse into that band’s depth of character. Don’t let the name fool you. These folks have a work ethic and sense of humanity that extends far past so-called humanitarians. The name only refers to everyone’s favorite vice; food, TV, video, clothes, work – we all have one. These folks are no more ‘devil oriented’ than chocolate cake or boiled egg halves at Thanksgiving.
Lead singer Dizz tells us about her earliest influences, her favorite parts about being in a band, and why she chose this group of dudes to sing with; dudes who are all much older than her 19 years. It’s an interesting and compelling tale
DYA tells us about their performances at this year’s Rocklahoma and the people responsible for making all that happen. They also do a shout out to special people who have helped them along the way, including promoters, venues and just plain ol’ good people. People much like they are.
We also take time to thank our growing list of sponsors for the upcoming Rock the Equinox concert at Lake John Wells on August 27. Come out from under your rock and rock with US on that day! Go to drjeffreyandthemadman.com to see details and find out where you can get your tickets.
This is one for the books and the bookers folks ! Hear and meet the band partially responsible for the Okie Tusk genre, and what their plans are for the future. You’ll be pleasantly surprised to learn what they’ve been up to, and what they have up their rock and roll sleeves.
Peace-In, gentle listeners. Rock out with your… socks out.

DJMM 8-4-2016 Gracie Murrell Special

This podcast is a special one, featuring a special gal – Stigler’s own Gracie Murrell ! Doc and MadMan pretty much devoted the entire hour to Gracie and her unique sweet-and-special voice. What a personality. Gracie’s confidence and stage presence comes through strong and pure, much like her renditions of favorite songs such as Dolly Parton’s “Jolene”. She tells DJMM about what’s been going on in her exciting world, including trips to Nashville, performances in Angel Fire and Branson, and exciting people she’s met all along the way. Much like many of the young performers who’ve come on the show, Gracie is well on her way to much greater things. Well mannered, funny, smart and squarely situated emotionally, this young woman will set you, gentle listener, back on your heels and in your most comfy “listening chair.”
Take the time to tune in and hear the latest developments taking place for this lovely and talented young woman. You’ll be proud someday (soon!) to say that you remember her from her early days on Dr. Jeffrey and the MadMan. Tune in or miss out ! Peace-In ! – DJ and MM

Who says that only L.A. and NYC are the best places for music in America? Obviously some grossly misinformed people who haven’t heard Stress on the Rich !

Three members of Stress on the Rich, a young Fort Smith, AR band rocked our socks with their acoustic chops on Friday, July 29th ! WOW, what a micro-set they hit us with.
Lead guitarist Dillon Taylor with Dillon Yother on acoustic bass and Travis Taylor on vocals, brought it TO US in DJAMM studios; playing no less than four of their original songs and teasing us with another ! I say again, WOW ! Doc and the MadMan were alternately choked up with emotion, recovering from cold chills and set back in their studio chairs as these impressive, talented and “together” young folks worked hard.
The guys were so blown away, they didn’t even bother to banter their usual “hows it goin’ ” dialogue. That’s correct; the entire show was dedicated to the music of these four friends who boast their own recording studio and over 60 collectible guitars. OH, and lest one forget, their ages added together wouldn’t equal the speed limit on I-40.
In a special emotional segment, SOTR presented a song they wrote about the late Jarrett Chord Chapman, a Stigler Kindergarten student who succumbed in 2015 after a battle with a rare form of brain tumor. The song, Drive that Train, begins about 51 minutes into the podcast, and appears on the group’s first EP which is named by title in the show.
Tune in for this week’s show and know that music is made here in the foothills of the Ozarks !
Keep it coming, guys! We loved having you!

If every day was like today… we JUST don’t know if we could stand it! It will sure be hard to follow this one, folks and fans. We had a great presentation and reception at Stigler-Haskell County Chamber of Commerce’s monthly luncheon, where we talked about our upcoming Rock the Equinox concert at Lake John Wells. Yup, the MadMan and I talk about the excitement we felt from the group there, and the buzz around the music that’s just around the corner. We take a few minutes to thank our first wave of event sponsors, Stigler Chamber of Commerce, Aaron Bailey Shelter Insurance, First National Bank of Stigler, and Bill Cox Insurance and Real Estate. Our August 27 show ignited a passion in our hearts and in those around us… but one who MAY feel it more is tonight’s special guest, Hollywood rocker, Katya of KatyaMusic who spent a good chunk of time catching us up on her preparations for her fifth tour of Japan. She’s pumped to blast it all off right here in The Big Stig as our headliner, featuring Vague Vendetta, Reliance Code and Rocklahoma artists The Devil You Adore! We take a trip on memory “lake” as I recall the legends of kiddie trains, ice cream cones and the days of merry-go-rounds at Lake John Wells. Our area’s slice of Shangri-La is still beautiful, with its 220 acres of surface water, abundant camping spots and fishing opportunities galore. Step back and take a gander at this week’s Dr. Jeffrey and the MadMan Show. We’ll see you on the air ! – DJMM

Never let it be said that Dr. Jeffrey and the MadMan aren’t up for new experiences. That said, when’s the last time you heard someone call a 21 year old man, “old”? Well tune in tonight, and listen to a fresh new band from the Stigler area named The Destination, ages 13, 14, 14 and 21. That’s right ! This talented and energetic group of youngsters share with us not one but TWO original songs right in DJAMM Studios ! Members Williams, Prince, Crase and McCormick came to the studios this afternoon and hit us hard with their fresh brand of “OKIE TUSK” music. As a special bonus we also were proud to host Janice Williams, Executive Director of the Stigler – Haskell County Chamber of Commerce. Janice shares with us the exciting new developments happening as a result of the recently voter approved sales tax for economic development. She talks about the developments at Roye Park, new plans for walking trails, music opportunities and ways that virtually everyone can benefit from being a local Chamber of Commerce member. Tune in tonite for yet another fun, informative and entertaining segment from Doc and the MadMan… and never forget that you can listen to past shows just by clicking on the links on the website ! How cool are these guys anyway!? We love good folks ! – DJ MM
